SynerPI®, in combination with BDK, is an effective alternative as TPO is reclassified as a reproductive toxicant by the EU

SynerPI® is a photoinitiator synergist for Improved UV/LED Curing of Gel Nail Polish

SynerPI® can be used with most LED based photinitiators and with both Norrish Type I and Norrish Type II photoinitiators. Materials that improve photoinitiation efficiency are known as synergists. They are known as synergists since they are not actually photoinitiators themselves but improve the kinetics of photoinitiated polymerization. Traditional synergists are amines and exhibit synergy by coupling with the photoinitiator and lowering the activation energy of the photoinitiation reaction and/or by acting as an antioxidant.

Introducing SynerPi

Included in the May 2022 edition of PCI Magazine is a feature from Piedmont detailing our new UV initiator synergist, SynerPi

Watch us grow: out with the old and in with the new

As part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement in all operational areas, Piedmont Chemical Industries has recently completed the installation of a new 6000 gallon vessel. This latest capital investment represents our financial commitment to growing our already broad manufacturing capabilities. A time-lapse video below shows the removal of the old vessel and installation of the new one:

Avoiding Disaster: Controlling Dyebath Penetration and Wetting

In textile wet processing, trapped air that makes fabric rise to the top of the bath or resist wetting can be disastrous.

Machine Cleaners in Action: Pomoclean TRDS

In this article, we offer evidence of Piedmont Chemical machine cleaners in action: before and after pictures of Pomoclean TRDS rising to the challenge.

Fabric shades going dull or yellow during manufacturing?  There are solutions to this hot topic.

You've worked hard to fine-tune your dyeing and finishing process, then someone brings you a finished sample, and there is bad news: the shade is dull and yellow.

Seeing fabric spots, specks, or smudges after wet processing? Perhaps there’s a simple solution.

Anyone who has ever worked in a dyehouse knows the feeling – fabric comes out of the dye machine and there are spots, imperfections, and defects on the fabric.  What went wrong? Was something improperly loaded? Is there a problem with the dyebath formula?

Work with Nylon? You need to know about Pomowick PA.

Unsurpassed wicking performance on nylon.

It took us dozens of tries to get it exactly right, but when we did, we were left with a finish for nylon that has wicking performance and durability unsurpassed by any other in the industry.

The Resurgence of the US Textile Industry

The US Textile Industry is making a comeback.  After decades that have seen companies merge with competitors just to stay alive, or in the worst case, close their doors for good, US textile manufacturers have customers that are bringing programs back from Asia for domestic production.
